SC 2 - Wings of Liberty won't be released anymore as intended at the end of 2009, rather in the first half of 2010. In my discussion with Rylin for a month or so I anticipate it - see ??  ; I mean we wait, and wait, and wait ... and still no beta in sight  ... read for yourself here

Wow... I remember back in 2007 Rylin gave the possibility that the game might come out in 2010, and I was like, LOL ok sure man, Blizzard is slow but not like that...

Seems I was wrong

Ah well.

Half a year isn't too bad, considering that's 1/14 of extra development time and only 1/4 more waiting time for me.

In the back of my head, I knew it could happen, but after they gave themselves nearly an extra year... well, I thought it would easily be enough. Crap...

I'm fine with the wait, seeing as Blizzard has yet to disappoint me with a game (excepting WoW, and that's the genre not the game).

I understand your frustration guys, you have my deepest sympathy. Personally I think the game is ready by now designwise, units, story, etc; some balance issues - for sure. But that was anyway the purpose for Beta. The only thing under construction seems to be their damn new battlenet, with it's "wonderfull" features. Firstly the LAN, now the release date, I wonder what comes next

Ah well.

Only for Guard it seems to be alright; nothing can't disturb him. He is the tranquility in person. I suppose if Blizzard will announce next year that SC 2 will be released at the end of the year 2010 his answer will be quite the same

A relapse of 12 years ago might give us some hope as to whether it will be worth the wait:

Let us hope history repeats itself Smiley

Blizzard's good reputation since the No Lan policy, is tattered in the community - trust me. And now another weird new; they loose credit constantly. It's not the quality of the new game I fear

Well, the delaying has always been there. So I don't see much more disappointment than what they always get from not announcing release dates.

The LAN thing was detrimental to their reputation. But as of now it seems that all RTS's are moving in that direction, so it's not just Blizzard =P

Let's face it. Since the announcement of SC 2, things go wrong with Blizzard. It's not just about this release; by the way this wasn't the first time they shifted the release. The No Lan was also a bad choice - even if I can understand some of their reasons. And Guard, I don't care what other companies doing; Blizzard goes in the past already different ways  - better ways!!

Ohh, and not to forget my favourite annoyance - the decission to split SC 2 in 3 games. I thought since the success with WoW their greed was satisfied; but obviously not

Wait. Let's see, I guess you're right that Blizzard is different. In this case, they were the first to announce to remove LAN Tongue I'd have to say that while I don't like this change, I'm not totally against it since we ARE moving to the future. I'm sure when old Cables for mutliplay were discontinued, there were plenty of people against it (WHAT? I need to get a router just to play? I can't use a simple cable connection anymore?!?!). But, alas, it was old technology, and we move on. Nowadays, obviously everyone has LAN, so we don't think about some problems of the past.

Therefore, I'm not totally against Blizzard's choice. I'm able to play, so at least for me, it's fine. I understand your concerns/hatred, but, frankly, we move on to the future. One day, people won't even think about LAN anymore since internet speed will be too fast anyways.

As for the decision to split SC 2. You do know that keeping it as one game would probably have delayed the game for another 2+ years Tongue I don't want that, no matter how great it ends up being...
