GameMeca, another Korean website, was invited to play Starcraft 2 for 45 minutes. Thanks to our friends at SCLegacy.com, we have a few notes on Starcraft II and how it's coming along. Some interesting information was that the selection cap is now 24 instead of unlimited as before.

Next is the ability to hotkey multiple selections and squads. The original selection cap of only 12 multiple selections has increased to 24, and when selecting squadswith hotkeys it was possible to go above the 24 limit. If 25 Zealots were set to hotkey number 1, the space that showed unit details said 24 units were set to hotkey 1 and the leftover one unit was set to hotkey 2.

Seems like they added quite a few goodies for ease of play, as well as making single player a little more exciting.

Nice info, Guard; it takes me awhile to read it  About their conclusions again: I can't agree nor dissagree so long I didn't played the game myself. It's like tryin to explain someone how a certain fruit taste. Before you didn't taste it yourself you won't know how it really taste.

Sure I have like many others my own rough estimation of SC 2 based on what I saw in the BR's and the other vids & infos. But all this can't give me enough info to judge it fairly, this way or the other, yet. I miss the feeling itself

Well, they still provide some information about what they feel, and based solely on that, it seems that SC2 is shaping up!

Many people don't like unlimited unit caps because it would be all too easy to box-select ALL of your combat units and send them straight into the enemy. But the 12-unit cap of the original was a bit too limited for some people (I had no problem with it though, except when trying to control large numbers of zerglings). I think 24 is a good number.

I have to concur with this

It doesn't affects Protoss so much, but a lot more Zerg. For Terran only when he use M&M's - for metal not essential. I'm obviously talking about the old SC.

And unlimited units caps is not really an option so far they wanna keep SC 2 competitive, suitable for e-sport

I think the 24 unit population selection is pretty nice. Perfect nice number increase.

well i think it will be better if it will 48 because i like large armies and if you have a large army and you need to go to attack you need to deliver one part and after others

Well, 24 adds up. 24 per selection is 3 selections instead of 6. You still need to highlight, click, highlight, click...but the amount of times you do that is just enough so that it feels good. As of now, when things get big I feel like I'm wasting too much time highlighting and clicking that microing gets difficult. Even if I have to do it 4 times (instead of Cool, I'm good.

More than 24 units per hotkey is not an option if Blizz wanna ensure that SC 2 shall become a major E-Sports game. They can set it to 48 only if the limit unit amount  will be by 300. But in this case the game will became too messy. I mean imagine that - units will run over the map like ants Plus only on bigger maps it will possible to play seriously with this kind of amount.

But that leads to e-sport issues:
- on bigger maps players aren't able to recognize anything on the minimap; a difference between units and buildings
- also too long distances between the start positions; which leads to very long games

Considering all this I can really imagine Blizz will even think about it. And btw, 24 units per hotkey is a good value - a very good value

Exactly. In the original SC, it's rare for 1v1 matches to go past 100-supply.

What? 1v1 matches go above 100-supply half the time! Only with rushes or cool early tactics do games go under 100 supply.
